Wallingford on Thames

Wallingford is a Thames side market town situated on the A4074 mid way between Oxford and Henley, within a hours drive of London, Birmingham and the Cotswolds, this ancient South Oxfordshire Town is steeped in history.

King Henry the 2nd held his court here in 1155 and in this year he granted the town its first charter.Once home to one of the country`s largest medieval castles,Wallingford played a large part in both of England`s civil wars, the castle itself finally being demolished on the orders of Oliver Cromwell in the mid 17th century.l

The The town has its own museum and market place  with a town hall dating from 1670,a corn exchange (now a theatre) built in 1856 in a classical manner.

The bridge over the river Thames is at the bottom of the High Street and adjacent to the river there are swimming pools and river trips can be purchased.

So if you visit our workshops why not spend the rest of the day visiting  Wallingford and browse in the Antique Shops and have refreshments in one of the many restaurants or public houses.
