Frequently asked questions about restoration

How much will it cost to restore my box ?

Restoration costs are not as high as you may think, the average quotation to carry out minor veneer repairs and re-polish a caddy, a slope or jewel box is £45.00.Re-lining a jewel box in cotton velvet, including a tray is Approximately £35.00-£45.00 depending on size.

How much will it cost to re-leather a writing box or desk?

Writing box leathers start at £50.00 this includes stripping the existing surface, fitting and tooling to your requirements. A 4ft by 2ft desk in the region of £195.00

Are there any hidden charges ?

All prices will be fixed quotations, the only extras will be shipping or delivery

What do I do next?

Then email us at otterantiques@ fsbdial.co.uk or phone on 01865407396 with the exact size of the leather and your details. Or, alternatively, drop your box to our workshops,where we will advise you of costs etc. and give a fixed price quotation.

From receipt we can usually return a box within two weeks
